Get to Know Melissa:

Dr. Johnson has trained in VA hospitals and outpatient practice. She has training in and utilizes Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP) for OCD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Philosophical Orientation:

Dr. Johnson works from an integrative perspective to therapy utilizing primarily psychodynamic and insight-based approaches. Her work focuses on understanding how our past experiences and primary relationships influence who we are and with that knowledge build self-compassion, acceptance, and inform change and self-growth.

Dr. Johnson grew up in West Virginia and moved to Utah in 2012 to pursue her PhD. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, fitness and yoga, and being outdoors.
