Get to Know Maggie:

Over a decade ago, I began working with a non-profit providing with the mission to "empower all individuals, families, and communities to live free from domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and interpersonal violence through education, prevention and intervention." It is a passion of mine to explore the family unit and its impact on adulthood. My clinical experience includes treating depression, both acute and chronic, anxiety disorders, domestic violence, sexual traumas, dissociative identity disorder, trauma, mild to extreme stress, attachment styles and how they impact relationships. In addition, I have treated women’s issues, postpartum depression, relational distress for individuals, polyamory aka Consensual Non-Monogamy within relationships for couples and as part of family therapy. In my spare time, my favorite psychological topic is education and support for persons experiencing physical impairment related issues including, chronic pain, reintegration after a debilitating injury, ongoing medical issues, and sexual function.

Over the last decade, I have evolved and practiced many modalities of treatment. I work from and have an integrative treatment approach to therapy. What does that mean? Each person I work with comes from different backgrounds, struggles, strengths, and challenges. I work to support each client in creating a plan of action to meet goals and find the tools they need to thrive. If you were to successfully complete therapy, what would your life look like? I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Focused Therapy for couples (EFTC), and Mindfulness Therapy. I tailor the treatment modalities to meet your needs by creating a collaborative environment. I believe that each individual I engage with has the wisdom within to excel and overcome their barriers. I am simply a mirror to guide you in finding your own healing. I work to strengthen your capacity to manage your life and overcome personal obstacles.

In my free time I hang out with my pets, spend time outdoors and listen to music and podcasts. I love camping, art, and reading. I enjoy going to concerts, parks, outdoor markets, and festivals. I enjoy playing video games and board games with friends. I also work to create meaningful and sustainable friendships in my life
