Philosophical Orientation:

I started my career in mental health as a front-line staff seven years ago at an adolescent treatment center. Since then I have held positions as a program director, a case worker, and now a clinical position as a therapist. I started my clinical career working with substance use cases in an outpatient setting in my internship, running both individual and group therapy sessions. After completing my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Utah I accepted a position at an inpatient trauma treatment center where I worked for the last two years. During my time there I worked with a wide range of cases including complex trauma cases, personality disorders, severe depression and anxiety, and dissociative identity disorder.

Get to Know Jonathan:

Outside of work my passions are camping and backpacking, video games, reading, snowboarding, and most importantly, spending time with my loved ones and my dog Mr. Rosewater. I also have a deep passion for music and am always happy to hear about others’ favorite artists and share mine. Connecting with others and having fun are the two main things that drive me!

My approach to therapy is always guided by the principle that the people that I work with are the experts of their own life, and because of that they are the ones who are capable of healing. As a therapist my job is to be the most effective tool for the people that I work with to help them realize their own strengths and power which is already present within them, and then guide them towards using those assets to achieve the goals that they are striving towards.
