With over 8 years working in various mental health settings, Eric brings empathy and compassion to each therapy visit. His approach is practical, relationship-based, and caring; focusing primarily on individual strengths and abilities. Eric spent five years in several long-term residential treatment centers helping clients with chemical dependency; and was also able to work in a private practice helping children and their families who were struggling with emotional, behavioral, and relationship problems. In addition, he has experience working with adult men in group and individual counseling. He is a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Philosophical Orientation: 

Aside from developing a solid working relationship with each client, Eric has been trained in a variety of scientifically supported techniques which may be used based on what the presenting concerns are. This includes, but is not limited to: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy, Relational Psychoanalysis, and Eriksonian Hypnosis. Lastly, Eric's experience with Play and Art Therapy is helpful when working with children and their parents.

In his spare time, Eric can be found playing violin, classical guitar, or the piano, and loves to attend concerts. He is also an avid reader, and tends to obsess over dark chocolate.
